Description TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a frame part according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a kit comprising a frame part of the type mentioned above.
Background Art Wall-mounted electrical functional units such as sockets, light switches, light regulators, etc., are ubiquitous in households as well as commercial applications. Depending on the application and the applicable standard, the devices to be fastened have different dimensions. As a rule, however, they comprise a frame part which is designed to receive the electrical functional unit and has an edge zone provided for wall support. The edge zone is typically rectangular or square, but it can in principle also be circular or otherwise shaped. Depending on the embodiment, the frame part can be attached to a component already installed in the wall or it is inserted into an opening preformed in the wall and at most anchored thereto.
A disadvantage of the known devices is that in some situations, the frame part is not installed exactly parallel to the surrounding wall region. This can be caused by unevenness in the wall region, which comes to lie under the frame part, or by a slightly oblique installation position of a component already installed in the wall, to which the frame part is fixed.
A disadvantage of the known devices is also that accumulates over time on the upper edge of the Rahmteiles an undesirable dust layer. This phenomenon is particularly pronounced in the performance of dust-forming work such as floor grinding, but also in wall drilling above the device. Especially with the accumulation of dark dust, its wiping from the top edge can lead to unsightly stains on the wall.
Furthermore, it is very difficult for the future user to attach markings to this fixed in the wall mounted functional unit. This is usually done with stickers that are applied to the frame part.
But not only the marking, but also a changing color design can only be realized by dismantling the complete functional unit.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The object of the invention is therefore to provide an improved frame part of the type mentioned in the introduction.
This object is achieved by the frame part defined in claim 1.
Characterized in that the edge zone is formed collar-shaped with a peripheral wall-side support surface and a radially inwardly adjoining circumferential projection, a rubber-elastic functional element that fits around the wall-side circumferential projection, wall side are attached to the frame part.
Thus, on the one hand, a more accurate alignment of the frame part is made possible parallel to the subsequent wall region by the frame member is pressed uniformly against the rubber-elastic functional element. The latter therefore acts as a spacer or as a compensation element.
On the other hand, the functional element can be removed and re-attached due to its rubber-elastic property even when mounted frame part. When removing the functional element of the accumulated on the top dust can be removed in a simple manner without fouling of the wall.
Another object of the invention is to provide a kit comprising a frame part of the type mentioned above. This object is achieved by the kit according to claim 8. In particular, the choice of suitably colored functional elements can bring about a marking or visualization function which, owing to the removability or interchangeability of the functional elements, ensures great flexibility.
In the present context, the term "radial" is to be understood at a given point of the frame part as a direction to the center of the frame part. Accordingly, the term is also used for non-circular frame parts. The term "wall side" is referred to as the side of an object that is directed to the wall after wall mounting.
Advantageous embodiments are defined in the dependent claims.
The dimensioning of the collar-shaped edge zone of the frame part depends primarily on the dimensions, the shape and the extensibility of the proposed rubber-elastic functional element. For a good fit, the functional element should be under a slight mechanical stress in the attached state. Accordingly, it must be stretched for placement or removal of the frame part so far that it can be moved beyond the peripheral boundary of the marginal bearing surface. The extent of this stretch is to be chosen so that no irreversible overstretching takes place and also no excessive force application by the user is required.
In one embodiment of the frame part of the projection relative to the support surface by a height before, which is greater than the distance between the radial outer side of the projection and the associated radial outer side of the frame part (claim 2). This results in a relatively large distance between the support surface and the wall, which allows the attachment of a comparatively thick functional element. As a result, the functional element protrudes beyond the collar-shaped edge zone and is thus clearly visible. Such a configuration is advantageous if the functional element is to appear visually, for example as a decorative feature or as a marking feature.
In an alternative embodiment, the projection relative to the support surface by a height, which is smaller than the distance between the radial outer side of the projection and the associated radial outer side of the frame part (claim 3). This makes the visual appearance of the functional element as inconspicuous as possible.
In certain embodiments, the portion of the support surface located radially outside the projection is substantially planar. In another embodiment, located between the support surface and the projection is a circumferential recess (claim 4). Accordingly, the support surface acts as a radially outermost, further wall-side projection. The latter can engage in a rubber-elastic functional element arranged between the frame part and the wall.
In principle, different forms of the frame part come into consideration. In an advantageous embodiment, the frame part is substantially rectangular-shaped, in particular square (claim 5). The dimensions can be selected by name in accordance with the customary dimensions in the trade. Examples include square frame parts with an external dimension of about 90 x 90 mm or rectangular frame parts with an external dimension of about 90 mm x 150 mm.
In an advantageous embodiment, the frame part is equipped with releasable support means for fixing an associated electrical functional unit (claim 6). Such holding means may in particular be configured as latching connecting parts which cooperate with corresponding counterparts on the functional unit. Advantageously, the support means are compatible with the counterparts of commercially available electrical functional units. As electrical functional units as mentioned above sockets, light switches and light controllers, but also other functional units such as bell buttons or orientation lights into consideration. Under "sockets" are understood in the present context not only single and triple sockets, for example, according to the widely used in this country standard SEV 1011, but also socket for signal connections for radio and television or data cables.
According to a further embodiment, the frame part is provided with an integrated electrical functional unit (claim 7). In this case, the frame part forms a peripheral zone firmly connected to the functional unit.
In an advantageous embodiment of the inventive kit, the rubber-elastic functional element configured as a round cord ring (claim 9). Such shaped elements can be comparatively easily, in the present case even without tools, attach to a correspondingly dimensioned frame part and also remove it again. It is understood that, depending on the shape of the frame part of the O-ring is approximately rectangular or square. As a material for the functional elements are in particular silicone rubber, thermoplastic polymer, but also other conventional elastomers in question.
According to yet another embodiment, the rubber-elastic functional element is designed as a frame-shaped flat element (claim 10). The rubber-elastic functional element acts somewhat like a platform on which rests the frame part with electrical functional unit. It is understood that the frame-shaped flat element can be designed in manifold ways. For example, the flat element may have a substantially constant thickness. Alternatively, the flat element may have a radially outwardly decreasing thickness, whereby a tongue-like shape is achieved with very flexible outer edges. Furthermore, depending on the intended use, the frame-shaped flat element may be designed to have a wide marginal or rather narrow margins. It is understood that the dimensions must be dimensioned in the radial inner region according to the dimensions of the frame part. By contrast, the dimensions in radially outward direction are freely selectable over a wide range. Thus, the flat element in a wide-brimmed variant, for example, protrude by about 20 mm, while projecting in a narrow-edged variant, for example, each about 8 mm. Non-symmetrical frame-shaped flat elements are also possible in which the laterally protruding edges have different widths, or even flat elements with a circular or even irregular outer contour.
Depending on the application, differently colored functional elements can be provided. This can be used to produce a decorative effect, with the quick and easy replacement of the functional element also allowing for individual variations. On the other hand, colored functional elements can also be used as a technical guide.
In an advantageous embodiment, the rubber-elastic functional element is noctilucent and thus allows a discrete, less disturbing orientation aid in a dark room (claim 11).
